Now that October is here, I feel like it’s officially fall, although, it was been quite hot last week here in the Bay Area (insert side eye emoji). I’ve been trying to keep my wardrobe simple these days, but I still have a love for dressing seasonally. I thought how could I make my outfits look more fall but stick to my new (semi) minimalistic style. I’m going to give you some tips on how to transition your wardrobe to fall with a few items – including some budget friendly ideas. Plus, there is a JORD GIVEAWAY!
1. A FELT HAT
As the season change, the morning air is brisk and you’ll need something to keep that head of yours warm. A felt hat is chic and stylish way to add that fall flare to your wardrobe. Stick to a neutral color so you can use it in the winter as well and seasons to come! I got this one from H&M for a very affordable price a few years ago – similar one here.
2. A PAIR OF BOOTIES
It’s time to switch back to your bootie height boots, if you haven’t yet (or get a pair, if you don’t have one!). I love a pair of booties because they really dress up an outfit without making a huge statement – keeping to that minimalistic look. My tip is keep the style of the booties simple with clean lines and a small heel of an inch to two inches for everyday wear. You’ll be able to pair them with jeans, a skirt, or a dress easily. I recently got these Caslon ones for under $100.
3. FALL TONE LIPSTICK & NAIL POLISHES
This is probably the most budget friendly way to transition your look to fall! Keeping a basic wardrobe scheme allows to you play around with colors when it comes to make-up and nail polishes. For this fall, I’ve been really into nudes for the lips. Then to dress it up more for the evening, I reach for a dark maroon lipstick. As for polishes, I will be alternating between a soft off-white pink, light grey with a violet tint, and a rich deep plum.

4. ACCESSORIZE WITH ARM SWAG
I got this unique watch from JORD a few weeks ago and love how it is made all out of wood. JORD has a vast selection of styles and different types of wood for their men’s and women’s watches – including unisex ones. I ended up selecting the Frankie dark sandalwood with emerald watch because I love the big face and color combinations. The look and feel of the watch just said “fall” to me. When I got the watch, I was amazed how light the watch is for its size – especially, compared to traditional metal bans. GIVEAWAY info below!
5. A CLASSIC SCARF
I’m a huge fan of scarves. They add so much to an outfit and are a great layering piece for warmth. As you step out the office in the evening and the sun has already set, there’s no better way to make sure you’re warm than with a scarf. (Well, a jacket helps too). I have had this scarf for years and still absolutely love it. The earth tones automatically makes me feel like it’s fall. Plus, it’s soft and the right thickness that won’t make you sweat! I say be selective and invest in a few classic scarves that you can wear over and over.
6. A STATEMENT NECKLACE
I personally like to go through phases of wearing one or two necklaces then rotating them out. And, what a perfect time to do so with a seasonal change. When I say “statement necklace”, I don’t mean it has to be flashy. You can be keep it simple like this Kendra Scott pendant necklace .
In my next blog post, I’ll show you how I put together a look with all these accessories.
I’ve partnered with JORD to give away a $75 gift code to a winner, so you can get a cool watch from them! Any other entries will receive a $20 gift code too. You can enter here. Contest ends next Monday, October 24th 11:59pm CST.
