Have you guys been to Tap inside the Westfield in Union Square yet? I found out about it through a meetup I attended. Otherwise, I wouldn’t had known it existed, since I rarely go all the way to the top of the dome. It’s a casual dining spot; you seat yourself and a server comes to take your order. There’s plenty of tables, and it doesn’t get that crazy busy. So, it’s great for groups.
We ordered quite the spread as you can see. Looking at it, I couldn’t believe we ordered all that food!
Bratwurst with beer onions with mustard on a pretzel bun
Tap Burger with tempura bacon, chedda r, lettuce, pickled red onion, togarashi remoulade
Kale Salad with parmesan, parsley and lemon gremolata
Tap Fries with sea salt
Cheddar Mac ‘N Cheese with fresh herbs, bread crumbs
Everything was good, although, the fries were just ordinary fries – probably not worth the $5. According to the hubs, they have a good selection of craft beer. I highly recommend the mac-n-cheese and kale salad. Also, the cocktail menu = two thumbs up!
This (below) is from a different trip we took, and we ordered:
Tuna Melt with provolone, heirloom tomato on sourdough and chips*
Cezar Kale Salad (like last time – above) added fried chicken
Tater Tots with smoked spices and Russian dressing
*You can opt for “no chips,” but they won’t sub it for something else. We tried last time, but they just charged us full price for the side salad and fries. BOO. Most places let you sub at no charge or add a side salad for reduced price, since you ordered an entree.
The tuna melt was delicious. Their kale salad was as good as before, but the fried chicken was okay. I was hoping it would be super crispy. The tater tots were good. How can tater tots be bad?! However, they weren’t that special for $6. I still need to try their desserts!
They also have happy hour from 3–6pm with special food menu.
